Wonky floor

There is a serious issue with our upstairs floor in the Rumpus room, when we walk over it, we can feel a bump, like going up hill. The inspector has also picked it up in his report, below is a picture of the issue. The report has been forwarded to the SS for immediate attention. Our SS said it will be rectified and have sent this to the carpenter to fix.

Wonky floor with more than 10mm high

True to his word, the SS has sent the carpenter on site to fix. First time it was a quick fix, tried to shave off few mm on top and put a heavy load of plaster on top, thinking it will flatten the floor. What is the carpenter thinking?? Being in the trade, he should know that this will never flatten a floor when it has been nailed to the joist.

Anyway, take 2, he has to come out onsite again to properly fix it this time. From the pictures, he has taken the front porch eaves out to get access where it was too high. The end result is a flat floor now.

Eaves out to get access to under the floor

Thanks to our SS for persisting in sending the carpenter out to get the job done correctly.
